Part 3 · Two-way Discussion
Discussion on Influential People, Social Media Influence, and Role Models
Trong Part 3, thí sinh nên dùng góc nhìn xã hội chung thay vì chỉ nói về bản thân. Hãy bắt đầu bằng các cụm như People generally..., In my country..., Most people.... Mở rộng câu trả lời 3–5 câu, đưa lý do, so sánh hoặc dự đoán để thể hiện tư duy phản biện.
Từ vựng: credibility (sự đáng tin cậy), charisma (sức hút cá nhân), practice what they preach (làm gương).
In today's society, influence is often built on a combination of credibility, charisma, and consistency. People tend to look up to those who demonstrate expertise in their field and who practice what they preach. Moreover, influential figures usually possess strong communication skills that allow them to connect with diverse audiences. However, genuine influence goes beyond popularity; it involves using one's platform to bring about positive change and inspire others to take action.
Dạng câu hỏi: So sánh quá khứ - hiện tại. Nêu ra sự khác biệt rõ rệt nhất, phân tích tác động.
Từ vựng: democratize (dân chủ hóa), misinformation (thông tin sai lệch), fluid (linh hoạt, dễ thay đổi).
The concept of influence has shifted dramatically over the years. In the past, influence was largely concentrated in the hands of political leaders, academics, and religious figures. Nowadays, social media has democratized influence, allowing ordinary people to reach millions with a single post. This shift has both positive and negative implications: while it gives a voice to the underrepresented, it also allows misinformation to spread rapidly. Consequently, the criteria for who counts as influential have become far more fluid.
Dạng câu hỏi: Phân tích 2 mặt. Dùng: On the one hand... On the other hand...
Từ vựng: empowering (trao quyền), self-esteem (lòng tự trọng), digital literacy (kỹ năng số).
On the one hand, social media influencers can inspire young people to pursue their passions, adopt healthier lifestyles, or develop new skills. They often make niche topics accessible and relatable, which can be empowering for teenagers. On the other hand, the constant comparison with seemingly perfect lives can fuel anxiety and low self-esteem. Furthermore, some influencers promote unrealistic beauty standards or risky trends. Therefore, digital literacy and critical thinking are essential for young audiences to navigate this landscape safely.
Dạng câu hỏi: Dự đoán xu hướng tương lai. Nêu 1–2 lý do và kết luận cân bằng.
Từ vựng: evolve (phát triển, thay đổi), mentorship (sự hướng dẫn), outcome (kết quả).
Traditional role models such as parents and teachers are likely to remain influential, though their role may evolve. As children spend more time online, digital figures may compete for their attention, yet the emotional bond and daily guidance provided by parents and teachers cannot be easily replaced. What may change is the way influence is exercised, with adults needing to engage more actively with digital culture. Ultimately, a balance between offline mentorship and online inspiration is probably the healthiest outcome.
Đề xuất 2–3 giải pháp thiết thực, phân tích vai trò của từng bên.
Từ vựng: accountability (trách nhiệm giải trình), transparency (sự minh bạch), manipulation (sự thao túng).
Ensuring responsible influence requires a combination of regulation, education, and accountability. Governments could introduce stricter rules on advertising and sponsored content, especially when young audiences are involved. Meanwhile, schools can teach students to critically evaluate the messages they receive online. Platforms themselves should also be held accountable for the content they amplify. When transparency and ethical standards are enforced, influence becomes a force for social good rather than manipulation.
